Cry Ugly started from a feeling that never really went away.
After growing up through multiple group homes, foster families, and youth care institutions, one thing always remained clear: some children simply go unseen.
Not everyone has someone to lean on.
Not everyone has a safe place to call home.
Some children cry alone, without a shoulder to lean on, without anyone asking if they are really okay.
With Cry Ugly, we want to create awareness for those children.
Not by showing perfection, but by making space for emotions people are often taught to hide. Sadness. Loneliness. Fear. Silence.
Cry Ugly stands for the idea that vulnerability is not something to be ashamed of.
That there is strength in being honest about how you feel. And that it is important to be there for one another, no matter who you are or where you come from.
